bittersweet
saturday was quite a long and bittersweet day.
'started off by waking up at 7am (I never wake up this early) so that we could get
decent parking at the BIG GAME, which we did. thank good ness we got there early...
some people had to pay as much as $35 for parking! since we found a spot on the street,
we paid $0.00.
we parked on the north side so my boyfriend and i reminisced about the times I
would cut class to join him for lunch on that side.
Most of his classes were there since he majored in civil engineering (which he never became, oddly enough)
'had some bagels for breakfast at Brewed Awakenings and hung out around the Campanile area before the game.
It was pretty happenin' there...(actually there were all kinds of things going on on campus) the Black Alumni Association had food and a DJ playing some cool hip hop/r&b/soul.
I sat on the grass, bopped my head to the beat, and people-watched while my boyfriend went around taking pictures...he takes his camera with him ALL THE TIME.
I just sat there thinking how great it was to be on campus again...without having to study or take tests!
Then, we met up with friends who bought our tickets and headed off to Memorial Stadium.
What can I say? The game was great! We FINALLY won
after an 7-year losing streak!
Actually, the last time they won was the last time my boyfriend and I watched them play at Memorial Stadium.
Hmm...maybe we're their good luck charm? ;)
So, this time around, we got to sit in the "alumni section".
Although we paid way too much money for our nosebleeder seats, the view from where
we were sitting was absolutely beautiful. definitely beats anything StanfUrd has.
In the background was the landscape of the Berkeley hills, full of trees that
kept climbing to the heavens. It was very magestic.
And the air seemed so much more cleaner up there.
Well, except for when the dude behind us started smoking his cigar.
Afterwards, we drove for about 1.5 hrs through traffic to get to our friend's b-day dinner in SanJose.
Lots of kids there again...and of course I played with them all.
'had a great time catching up with friends.
Then, my boyfriend got a call from his cousin that tita mila had passed away around 8:30p...
It was a shock. We had just visited her Friday night and
my boyfriend brought the 3 pictures of the cross at Mission San Jose upon tita's request.
We posted them up on her bulletin board at the wall opposite her bed.
Perhaps she was able to find enough comfort in them to let go.
Upon my boyfriend's request, those pictures will be buried with her.
how beautiful is that...
til tomorrow....
