a strange evolution
so, bim and I finally came up with the details for our x-mas party.
just finished sending out the new evite.
still trying to figure out other details, like what to serve this year for food.
that's always important to us...to have enough of it and for it to be good. :)
looked through a few of my cookbooks and brainstormed for almost an hour on things.
i think I've settled on stuff, but still wanna hear bim's suggestions.
so we've been putting on this x-mas party thing for 10 years now.
this year will be the 11th.
it's really strange, but cool how things evolve on their own.
our "party" started out as this little get together among friends
when we were freshman in college.
There were probably only about 12 of us at the most.
After pulling a couple of all-nighters at my place for our Chem 1A exam,
and after hanging out together that semester, it just
made sense for us to celebrate the holidays in some way.
over the years, bim and i made other connections with folks
and the parties got a little bigger each year.
and of course, we'd make even more connections from the new people
we would meet at our parties, so...it grew even bigger
until one year...i forgot the year...it took 2+ hours to get through
the White Elephant Game because there were 56 people playing the game!
it was sooooo crazy but soooo fun at the same time. My mom was even there in
the room watching (and laughing at) us. ;)
that's when bim and i realized that this little "get together" of ours had turned into something completely different.
the funny thing is we never have any expectations from it, like how much bigger it should be next year, etc...
we just hope there will be friends who can join us to celebrate the holidays
...doesn't matter how many
...doesn't matter who
we just leave it to chance..
and are just sooo thankful and happy every year
that we have friends to celebrate the holidays with
...and we're even happier when those friends introduce us to new friends that they bring along. :)
i'm excited to see how this will continue to evolve...especially with all of the "little ones" on the way...
