yes, today is the day that almost everyone and their momma
will gather in front of the tv for.
Although I'm no super-hyped about it, I still want to see how the game goes.
My best friend and her boyfriend are coming over to watch it on
our couch.
I haven't seen her in such a long time, so when she called yesterday asking
if I wanted to get together, i immediately said yes.
I don't have very much money still, so I'm not too sure what to serve.
She said she'd bring some food over so that I don't have to worry,
but it's so un-Pilipino to not have something ready for them, you know?
I hate being a bad hostess.
So, I gotta think of something quick and cheap and good.
Another perspective
so while everyone in San Diego is partying and excited about the game,
a bunch of families had to say goodbye to their loved ones who were getting
shipped out to the middle east. I saw this on the news last night.
Needless to say these families do not have the same desire to celebrate the superbowl
as the rest of the city. There are obviously more important things going on right now.
San Diego has one of the biggest military bases in the state,
which also explains why there are soo many pinoys living down there.
Anyhow, it was a humbling thing to see.
'definitely made me think about how ironic life is,but
also how lucky we are to have the freedoms we do have
because of the folks who protect us.
This is not to say, however, that I am for the attack on Iraq.
It's ironic how we still have not learned our lesson after 2 world wars,
Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, etc. etc. etc.
We're stuck in this oppressive, bullying mindset forever.
And just because the American government makes a decision like this,
'doesn't mean that it is the right one.
And because we don't get all the information on our very mainstream news lines,
there's really no way for us to know the whole truth about the situation.
I only know of 2 news radio stations in the Bay Area that tells the news
in a very critical, analytical way.
in retrospect
even with the early morning interviews and the headaches I got from them
from not getting enough sleep,
I'm glad I had a busy week.
I'm glad that my brain cells are working to capacity again!
Keeping busy definitely motivates me
to do more.
Like yesterday...good lord, I could've cleaned the entire house if
I really wanted to!
And even though these various interviews I'm getting doesn't
necessarily mean I will get the job,
It somehow motivates me and makes me feel happy that I'm wanted.
It's pretty good on the ego, you know?
makes me hopeful at the very least.
'Still gotta remain realistic of course.
I need to continue the job search and applying to places,
just in case these interviews don't get me the job.
Will start that up again tomorrow.
I'm just genuinely happy and thankful for this past week.
