11:13p

a lovely day (lovely day, lovely day, love-ly day)
today, I was still not employed.
'still haven't started my new job at the spa.
'didn't get the job at the salt company.
but you know what? I had a great day today!

lucky for me, my bf called in "sick".
'spent the whole day with him driving up and down the
east bay, shopping for photography supplies.

we ended up eating at a quaint and homey little cafe for lunch
in downtown Hayward, shopping at Utrecht art at Berkeley,
and ending our day with a mug of white chocolate mocha (for him)
and hot cocoa (for me) at Au Coquelet Cafe in Berkeley.
And can I just say, it has been ages since I had a cup of hot cocoa like that!?!!!
There's really nothing like the coffee/chocolate drinks at Berkeley cafes.
I have yet to find anything comparable...even in the city.

Shopping through Utrecht Art got me all inspired again.
'Made me wish that I knew how to draw or paint.
Once again there were loads of blank canvasses...
and at this store, there were, of course, hundreds of sketch books.
I soo wanted one!

i think once I get settled with a job I'm going to take some classes on drawing.
I used to draw a little when I was younger. Nothing major.
Just copied pictures or cards I had. (no tracing, though)
I wasn't too bad. I even managed to draw my mom's wedding portrait.
She looked more cartoonish than real, but it was pretty good for my
amateur skills.
I still have that sketch book today.

I dunno what it is, but even though I get motivated
to draw something when I see a blank sheet of paper,
I'm stumped as to what to draw.
I never really expressed myself through drawing....I always reverted to writing.
Poetry mostly.
I guess it's one form of expression I have to learn.

Anyhoo, I think the best part of the day
was when we picked up my bf's picture, which he got put in a mat board.
It looked all professional.
I felt so proud of him. it was the first picture he had ever gotten mounted in a mat board.
all he needed was to place his signature on the mat and
it would be ready for display in a gallery.
we were both pretty happy with how it turned out.

so tonight, gonna continue applying for stuff.
and tomorrw, I've got an interview at a spa in the city.
it's another new spa that will open in one of the
major hotels downtown.
let's see how it goes.
hopefully this is something that can work out.
*fingers crossed*
