new identity
holy moly!
'been literally on my ass in front of the computer ALL DAY LONG!
who would've thought that the little tutorial that my bf gave me on
photoshop, FTP-ing, and HTML
would lead me to a day's worth of creating,
designing, scrapping and re-designing!

Thank goodness I finally have an outlet for artistic expression!
and yay...I have tools to help me draw better than I EVER could free-hand!
thumbs up for technology.

so, ya, 'changed my blog title.
'been wanting to for a while now.
the title is actually a line in a poem I posted on my very first blog.
I think it suits this blog more...especially since it's something
that came from my noggin'.

I think the words definitely capture the process
I go through with this blog...not only through the entries
but also in the design (especially now that I'm learning new skills).

then again, all of us go through this constant defining and redefining of
ourselves (at least I hope all of us do).
It's a good thing..especially since the only other constant in life besides death is change.

finally...I went out!
so, I'm happy that I actually did something different and fun (and even productive) today like I hoped!
My bf even treated me out to dinner...so sweet.
we pigged out on a platter of fajitas...different kinds (veggies, baby back ribs, steak, chicken, shrimp).
We headed over to Chevy's, and of course, we took advantage of the free chips and salsa.
We even had a whole basket to take home, cause we couldn't finish it.
MMMM...everything just hit the spot! 'definitely a change from the tuna sandwiches.

if i were Van Gough
Afterwards, we went to Aaron Brother's to get some mat board for my
bf's pictures. He's been reading a book on how to mount his photos and stuff.
It's pretty neat. He actually almost bought a $100 paper cutter thingy that
helps you create mat boards.
hmm...then I saw a whole bunch of canvas boards...in different sizes.
man, there's something about a blank canvas that just inspires me to create.

I really wanted to buy some since they would sell you a second
board for only 1 cent. But...no money and I couldn't think what to
do with them, since the ideas were racing in my head like 100 miles a minute!
Well, at least I know they are there.

I'm not a painter, but you really don't need to be one to create something on canvas.
even the simplest image can become art.
even just a few brush-stroked lines could make a nice wall-hanging.
(can you tell I've been watching wayy too much Trading Spaces?)

anyhoo, 'been listening to the John Mayer Album all day.
great album, by the way! gets my creative juices flowin' for some reason.
'Must be his song-writing...I really dig his stuff.
So, I'll end my wonderfully creative, artful and productive day with the words to my fav. song
on John Mayer's album.
It's kinda funny cause with all the "staying home" i've been doing, you would think this
song would pertain to me.
But, lemme just say this...I wouldn't be indoors if I didn't have to - period!
Nevertheless, I love the writing in this song (especially the first 4 lines) and also the message.
read for yourself (and good night!)...

GREAT INDOORS
By John Mayer

Check your pulse it's proof
That you're not listening to
The call your life's been issuing you
The rythm of a line of idle days

Scared of a world outside
You should go explore
Pull all the shades and
Wander the great indoors
The great indoors

Lamplight makes the shadows play
And posters take the walls away
The T.V. is your window pane
The view won't let you down
So put your faith in a late night show
I bet you didn't even know
Depends on how far out you go
The channel numbers change

Scared of a world outside
You should go explore
Pull all the shades and
Wander the great indoors
The great indoors

Though lately I can't blame you
I have seen the world
And sometimes wish your room
Had room for two

So go unlock the door
And find what you are here for
Leave the great indoors
Please leave the great indoors

Check your pulse it's proof
That you're not listening to
The call your life's been issuing you
The rythm of a line of idle days
