a working girl once more
I got the job!!!! I got the job!!!!!
I start work at a domestic violence prevention organization TOMORROW!
The cool thing is, the pay scale is actually a little bit higher than described in
the job posting.
The other cool thing is, by tomorrow I will be able to officially start at my spa gig.
'Went through lots of red tape today to apply for my permit.
Ugh....I even forked out the $244 that it cost to get it!
I also waited almost 2 hours just to get fingerprinted.
Luckily, I had a nice conversation with a Palestinian man who was applying for
his taxi cab driver permit. Of course we talked about the impending war and
the situation in the middle east. But for the most part,
we shared some pretty random (but funny) stories.
Oh, and I also got picked up on by this really brain dead guy who had
pretty bad smelling breath.
*shivers in disgust*
(Ok, WHY Oh why do I always attract the wierd ones?)
To top it off, I also got to wait in line with the rest of the folks that
have to get fingerprinted:
- teachers
- other taxi cab drivers
-other massage therapists
- people on probation
- sex offenders that have to register.
you know, typical folks.
anyhow, I decided to celebrate and treat my bf out to dinner.
We ended up at Buca di Beppo's in the city. 'pigged out on fried calamari and
one of their unique and yummy pizzas.
it was also my way of saying "thanks" for all the moral and monetary support
he's given me over these few months. And if you know my bf, food is a valued gift! hehehehe!
*sigh*
here's to new beginnings...(and more financial stability!)
