karaoke-fest!

it's 12:42 am and I just got back from my cousin's house.
woo hoo..the whole friggin' clan was there and then some.
'pretty mellow night. we all just hung out and played with
the kids.

it was cute when my cousin gave a couple of them
Harry Potter wizard capes!
Suffice it to say, i was green with envy. ;)

we also played some cards (speed) with the kids, tried to build a cabin and a bridge
with Jenga blocks, and played Bingo with the youngest: she's almost three.
She got to pick out the numbers and yell them out.
Of course, we had to say the numbers first so that she could imitate us.
My favorite thing was when she tried to say "fifty"...in her words it's "FEFTY".
oooh...gigil na gigil ako talaga!

while playing Bingo, we noticed that they started karaoking downstairs..
my cousin-in-law was belting something out...his vocal talents were a mixture of hilarity and
sheer horror! ;)
so, of course we had to go down and see it for ourselves.

Ohhh boy..between all the family members, I think we just about
sang all the songs on that disk.
let's see...my favorites were:

1. auntie Z's "Ilocano" version of "My Way" (only she pronounced it "My WEE")
2. auntie L's sobering version of "Hey Jude" (yes, even the aunties get buzzed in this clan)
3. my ear-piercing version of "Copacabana" (hey, at least I could cha cha and merengue to it right)
4. our group effort with "We are the World" (my cousin did a great rendition of Bob Dylan's part...especially since her voice was already hoarse from her cold)
5. my cousin-in-law's almost perfect version of "She Bop" (and he's a guy!)

and my ultimate favorite....

6. my cousin-in-law's impressive rendition of "Macarena"...ALL IN SPANISH (real fast Spanish)!!!!! wow...that certainly
made all of our heads turn (even if he was off-key).

hahaha....there's nothing like a good dose of laughter, playtime with the kids, and bad singing
to make one's Friday night a good one.
And even if we all sucked (well, except auntie F) at least those were our real voices...
no Milli Vanilli lip-sync'n in our little concert. :)
